What Social Blood Bank does and does not do
Social Blood Bank is a technology and community platform for blood donation coordination. It lets people create and share blood requests, register as donors, find hospitals, blood centers, organizations and campaigns, and communicate and coordinate.
Social Blood Bank is not a hospital, licensed blood bank, blood transfusion center, laboratory, ambulance or emergency service, doctor or other medical practitioner. It does not collect, test, store, transport or supply blood, and it does not decide whether a donor may donate or whether blood is compatible. See the Medical Disclaimer.
Social Blood Bank does not currently charge users for the service.
Your account
- One person, one account. Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and verification codes secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@socialbloodbank.com if you think someone else is using it.
- A verified email address or mobile number means you showed you control it with a code. It does not verify your identity, your health or your blood group.
- A verified organization has been reviewed by the platform. A facility listing may have been added by the community and may need independent confirmation. A laboratory-verified blood group was recorded by authorized facility staff.
- Your public username can be set once. Changes need our help.
What you must not do
- Create fake, exaggerated or duplicate blood requests, or false medical claims.
- Commit fraud, run scams, or ask for or offer money or other benefits for blood.
- Impersonate a person, organization, hospital or blood center, or misrepresent your role or authority.
- Harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone, or share other people’s personal or patient information without authority.
- Send spam or phishing messages, or upload malware.
- Manipulate verification, referrals, badges or reports.
- Access accounts or data without permission, attack or overload the service, or bypass its security.
- Scrape or bulk-collect data from the service without our written permission.
- Break the law, including laws on blood safety, data protection and cyber security.
The Community Guidelines explain these rules in more detail.
Donors
If you register as a donor, keep your donor information truthful and up to date, only respond to requests you intend to help with, and follow the instructions of the hospital or blood center. Medical staff decide whether you may donate. Being registered or matched on Social Blood Bank does not mean you are medically cleared to donate. See the Donation Policy.
Blood requests
- Only create a request for a real, current need, with accurate information.
- You must have the patient’s permission, or be their guardian or otherwise authorized, to share their information.
- Share only what is needed to find blood. Do not add diagnoses, test results or identity documents.
- Keep the request updated and close it when the need is met or has ended.
Organizations
Organizations must represent themselves accurately and lawfully, manage their members and roles responsibly, and use information they can see on the platform only for blood coordination and their stated work. An organization is responsible for the actions of its members taken in its name.
Hospitals and blood centers
Facility information may come from users, organizations or imports. We do not guarantee that a listed facility is licensed, open or able to supply blood. Check with the facility before you travel.
No commercial blood trade
Using Social Blood Bank to buy, sell, broker or traffic blood, or to pressure or exploit anyone to donate, is forbidden and may be reported to the authorities. Lawful charges by a licensed hospital or blood center for their own services, such as processing and testing, are not a sale of blood.
Your content
You keep the rights to the content you post, such as blood requests, posts, images, campaigns and organization or facility details. You give Social Blood Bank a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, display, adapt for display and share that content as needed to run and promote the service, according to your settings and the Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to post it.
Moderation and enforcement
We may review, hide, remove, restrict or archive content, ask for more information, limit features, suspend or close accounts, or restrict organizations when we reasonably believe these terms, the Community Guidelines or the law have been broken, or to protect people. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell the person affected and give a reason. You can ask us to review a decision at support@socialbloodbank.com.
Our rights
The Social Blood Bank name, logo, design and software belong to Social Blood Bank or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as these terms or the law allow.
Availability of the service
We work to keep Social Blood Bank available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or up to date. We may change, suspend or stop features.
Responsibility and liability
Users, organizations and facilities are responsible for their own information and actions. As far as the law allows, Social Blood Bank is not liable for indirect losses, or for what independent people, organizations, hospitals or blood centers do. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for our own negligence that causes death or personal injury, or for fraud.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Social Blood Bank and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account as described above. Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue, such as responsibility and content permissions for content that stays visible, continue after the account ends.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction. If you live in another country, you keep any rights that its law gives you and that cannot be taken away by agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top show the current version, and important changes are announced on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
These terms are available in English and Bengali. If the two versions differ, the English version applies unless the law requires otherwise.
